When I think back to my early childhood, some memories stand out. It’s the time I spent at Disneyland while visiting family in Anaheim. Those early visits weren’t just about the rides or the parades; they were the foundation for my enduring love for Disney and Disneyland.
From the moment I enter a Disney park, the world around me seemed to transform. The ordinary sights melt away, replaced by a fantastical landscape of vibrant colors and whimsical characters. The magic of Disneyland isn’t just in the attractions but in the way it makes me feel. As an adult I took my sons to Disney World more often than not.
These trips were more than just visits to an amusement park; they were opportunities for bonding with family. Whether it was sharing a Dole Whip on a sunny afternoon or riding the “ Wildest Ride in the Wilderness”, Disney became a backdrop for laughter, joy, and togetherness, reinforcing the idea that magic can be found in the simple pleasures of life.
As I have grown older, my love for Disney only deepened. The enchanting experiences at the parks laid the groundwork for a lasting affection for all things Disney. It wasn’t just about the parks anymore; it was about the stories, the history, the characters, and the magic that Disney represents.
The joy and wonder I experience at Disney have become a source of comfort and inspiration, especially during difficult times. Whether it is revisiting classic films with my youngest son, exploring Disney parks with family, or devouring Disney-themed books and obscure Disney history, the magic is there.
I think it was those early Disneyland visits, that shaped my appreciation for creativity, and imagination. Maybe that is the artist in me. Disneyland is more than just a place; it is a gateway to a magical world that has become a cherished part of who I am. May I never forget that magic is real and that it often begins in the most unexpected place. For that reason, Disneyland will always hold a special place in my heart.
